Social starting at the Cross Keys, Hightown for 8pm then a 4 minute walk to the Shears for 8:35, then a 13 minute gentle downhill stroll to the Black Bull for 9:20, possibly looking in at the Lonsdale on the way. Then if time, a drink in Charlie's Bar, by the traffic lights, 3 minutes walk away.
Bus services to Cross Keys are more limited since the 3rd October changes. It seems that choices are limited to:
1) 260 bus from Upper Heaton, 18:50 Bobtown arriving 18:53,
2) 200 leaving Heckmondwike at 18:13 or 20:13 arriving 18:22 or 20:22,
3) 200 leaving Birstall 18:38, Gomersal 18:41, Cleckheaton 18:58 arriving 19:10.
Return from Charlie's/Black Bull:
1) 200 bus 22:03 to Cleckheaton only,
2) 229 bus 21:53 to Birstall and Leeds, 22:53 to Birstall.
3) 268 bus 22:31 to Cleckheaton/Bradford
4) 268 bus 22:45 to Dewsbury
