When does the local branch meet?

We usually meet monthly for an open branch meeting where we discuss current matters and decide such things as which pubs to nominate for the Good Beer Guide, which to award a Pub of the Season and/or Pub of the Year certificate to, all done democratically and as fairly as we can.
Other topics include beer festivals, pub preservation and local pub news, which is the main source of content for the news pages of our quarterly branch magazine, Real Ale Talk.

All 7pm unless otherwise stated:-

  • August Branch Meeting Wednesday 6 August 2025 19:00 Knowl Club

    Monthly meeting, all welcome.
Among items for discussion will be nominations for Autumn Pub of the Season.
    Venue confirmed.

  • Social, Hartshead Moor Thursday 21 August 2025 19:00 Stafford Arms

Starting by 7pm at the Stafford Arms which has 6 handpulls with well-kept ales, then almost next door, to Hartshead Moor Club, then to the New Pack Horse for 8:30pm, a pub which has built a reputation for providing a range of good quality real ales of varied styles. We suggest using Google Maps to plan your journey if coming by bus, services being poor in the evening, the 200 perhaps being the most useful though not frequent.

  • Branch meeting and AGM Thursday 18 September 2025 19:00 1931 Birstall

A brief monthly meeting covering essential points followed at 7:30pm by the branch AGM.
Nominations for committee will be welcomed.

  • Branch Social, Mirfield Thursday 25 September 2025 19:00 Old Colonial

Social starting 7pm at the Old Colonial, then 7:45 next door, to Mirfield Parish Cricket Club, then 8:15 to Dusty Miller and 8:50 to the Shoulder of Mutton (approximate times)
