Branch Social to Goose Eye and Keighley
A social trip by public transport to a fine brewery tap with some excellent beers.
The Goose Eye brewery tap is very close to Crossflatts station with trains from Leeds roughly every half hour.
It is located next to Screwfix, straight ahead of you at top of footpath. The pelican crossing may be the best place to cross
Then on to Keighley Railway Station and a look in at the bar above the platforms, the Old Parcels Office, where food is available as well as a couple of beers.
There are a number of great pubs within walking distance from here, notably the Boltmakers Arms, just three minutes walk away.
Taylor's on the Green is a further six minutes walk, with the Brown Cow a further five minutes, all three recommended.
Transport
It is recommended to arrive close to the noon opening time as it fills up quickly
e.g. 11:26 from Leeds arrives 11:47, (11:56 arrives 12:17). From Dewsbury, the 10:57 arrives Leeds 11:10.
You need to buy a return to Keighley as Crossflatts is the station before Keighley.
An off-peak day return is valid all day, the cost from Leeds is £8.60 (£5.70 with Railcard) or from Dewsbury £8.90/£5.90, changing at Leeds.
A concessionary pass lowers the price to £4.30 (Leeds), £4.45 (Dewsbury)
