Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic this pub is currently offering additional services:

The Navigation Tavern, Mirfield, reopened on 4th July following the COVID Pandemic. Reopening Policy 1. We will be operating a table only service. Meaning all customers will be seated by our meet & greet on entry, customers must wait at the entrance to meet and greet if not there. 2. All customers must sign in name, address, email and mobile number, once you have signed in once you will be given a number to use to allow quicker entry on subsequent visits. 2. All tables will be spaced at 1m+ in line with current guidance, meaning all our table are over 1m apart varying from 1.2m -2m apart 2. Service is by waiting staff or you can order & pay through an app that will be available for opening (if it’s available earlier - we will post details on our Facebook page) 3. Tables and furniture cannot be moved by customers. 5. There will be a one-way system around the pub, which will be explained on arrival. 6. We will be operating a cash and card payment system but ask customers where possible to use cards/app/phone payments. 7. Where possible doors will be wedged open to limit touching. 8. Toilets will operate as one out one in. 9. We will require the customer to try to stay seated as much as possible, and not wander around the grounds. 10. If customers want to move from outside to in or vice versa, they will need to ask their waitress to arrange a move. 11. If customers bring children, they MUST remain seated and not be left unattended at any time.

A canalside free house with a long-standing host, the pub is an ambassador for Theakston beers and has up to three guests, mainly at weekends, all at keen prices. It features on the Transpennine Rail Ale Trail and hosts occasional fundraising events plus Saturday night entertainment (often Motown) and has active sports teams. A large function room and en-suite Bed and Breakfast with stairlift are available and Winter comfort is aided by a large wood-burning fire. Sunday lunch booking advised.
