See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A country-style pub first licensed in the 1750s, which lies west of the village centre. The open-plan bar divided into four areas has half-panelled walls and beamed ceilings. Photos show it as once a Kirkstall Brewery house. Darts, dominoes and pool are played, on Thursdays there is a music & knowledge quiz. Guest beers come mainly from independent breweries. Outside is a patio with a flower display which has won it the Birstall in Bloom award for several years. Last admission 11pm. 30p/pint CAMRA discount except on John Smith's. The seven pumps usually include a real cider.
