Campaign for Real Ale

Diary

When does the local branch meet?
During the current Coronavirus outbreak, physical meetings and socials are taking place, however we should be mindful of the risks and be prepared to take extra care to avoid the possible spread of infection.

Under normal circumstances, we meet monthly for an open branch meeting where we discuss current matters and decide such things as which pubs to nominate for the Good Beer Guide, which to award a Pub of the Season and/or Pub of the Year certificate to, all done democratically and as fairly as we can.
Other topics include beer festivals, pub preservation and local pub news, which is the main source of content for the news pages of our quarterly branch magazine, Real Ale Talk.

All 8pm unless otherwise stated:-

  • Branch Social, Batley Thursday 25 August 2022 20:00 Taproom, Batley

Social starting at the Taproom at 8pm, then Union Rooms (with keen management) and Cellar Bar.

  • Branch meeting and AGM Thursday 8 September 2022 19:30 Hanging Heaton Cricket Club

A brief monthly meeting covering essential points followed at 8pm by the branch AGM. Nominations for committee will be welcomed.

  • Branch Social, Birstall Thursday 22 September 2022 20:00 Greyhound

The last 281 leaves Dewsbury at 19:00 and stops just past the Pheasant. The 2006 229 goes from opposite Pheasant to Birstall Market Place or Smithies Lane, i.e. before the Bradford Road traffic lights. Then it's a few minutes walk to the others.
