Campaign for Real Ale

When does the local branch meet?

Once a month, we meet for an open branch meeting where we discuss current matters and decide such things as which pubs to nominate for the Good Beer Guide, which to award a Pub of the Season and/or Pub of the Year certificate to, all done democratically and as fairly as we can.
Other topics include beer festivals, pub preservation and local pub news, which is the main source of content for the news pages of our quarterly branch magazine, Real Ale Talk.

All 8pm unless otherwise stated:-

  • Pub of the Season Presentation Monday 24 February 2020 20:00 Halfway House

When long-standing licensee Moira moved on, the pub experienced a decline until the current management took over and rebuilt its popularity. Now featuring a number of guest ales and many new attractions and events, the pub is experiencing a new lease of life.
